Job Description: Our Client is a well established Bank in Saudi Arabia. We seek to acquire experienced and well-qualified Oracle Database Administrators to serve within the Production Services Technical Support Department of the Information Technology Division. This role will require the Administrator to: • Ensure maximum system availability is maintained. • Monitoring of system health and performance, • Support production, QC and other environments. • Install latest system software and apply patches. • Provide assistance to development and projects teams. • Comply with all security requirements as provided by ISSD.

Profile SCOPE OF WORKS Principal accountabilities / responsibilities of the Oracle Database Administrator: 1. Identification and resolution of hardware, software, or database problems / malfunctions in any of the BANK's database instances and/or hosts, especially those that directly impact the production service. 2. Analyzing systems errors or anomalies, as well as specific database performance issues and/or error messages, in order to ensure maximum uptime and service quality and assess trends that may ultimately result in degradation of service. 3. Working internally within the larger Technical Operations organization to test planned databases upgrades / modifications, as well as provide input into long-range database requirements and operational guidelines, with a focus on improving the performance and reliability of the databases and service overall formulating and implementing monitoring, policies, procedures and standards relating to database management. 4. Working with our Professional Services organization to resolve API / database issues, including the troubleshooting of third party data integration services and/or other Web-enabled solutions. 5. Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation on a periodic basis; this requires functional knowledge of all production systems and subsystems outside of the database layer in order to provide on-call support. 6. Team work spirit. 7. The candidate primary role will be to perform knowledge transfer to BANK's staff. Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: 1. Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience. 2. 6-8 years database administration experience, with at least 3 years in a 24/7/365 environment. 3. Strong UNIX administration skills - Solaris and AIX experience required. 4. Experience with high availability database solutions and architectures such as Oracle 9i, 10g RAC, SunCluster, HACMP, Veritas DBE/AC, Oracle DataGuard, and so forth. 5. Strong knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager. 6. Experience with high-end SAN storage (NETAPP, IBM DS, etc.) solutions, particularly in the area of multi-pathing. 7. Experience with RMAN (Recovery Manager) and one of the major backup packages (Veritas NetBackup, etc.) 8. Experience in executing an Oracle database restore from tape. 9. Experience with database disaster recovery methodologies. 10. Excellent SQL and PL/SQL skills. 11. Candidate MUST have extensive experience working within structured change management processes for highly available enterprise database systems. 12. Experience with Enterprise monitoring and management frameworks (BMC patrol.) 13. Networking experience {TCP/IP, Database Connectivity (JDBC, ODBC, etc.)} in Java to database connectivity environments required. 14. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 15. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, conducive to team development. 16. Shell scripting.
