The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is the independent organisation created to bring a fresh approach to the system of paying MPs’ expenses.

Operationally strong IT data security and IT service are vital to the successful operation of this new organisation. Reporting to the Head of IT and Data Security, we are looking for individuals with an excellent track record of developing and implementing data security best practice and delivery of IT Service through our fully outsourced provider. You will need to have the communications skills and tenacity to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide a service which meets organisational needs while at the same time adheres to government security standards.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate:
Sound Experience in ICT and data security operations and solid background in providing a high level of IT service.
Flexibility to respond to priorities while maintaining a methodical process for managing a diverse workload.
Ability to maintain oversight of the smooth running of the IT and data security functions through a fully outsourced 3rdparty provider.
Strong attention to detail with an ability to produce accurate and quality reports.
An ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
Very strong ICT skills and a technical understanding of supporting Microsoft products .

Any of the additional following skills would be an advantage:
Achievement of at least foundation level of ITIL or equivalent.
Familiarity with Risk Management and Accreditation Document Set (RMADS).
Familiarity with ISO 27000 set of standards.
Experience of records, document and content management.
Knowledge of Information Assurance principles.
Working within an organisation with a mature ITIL framework.
Knowledge of information technology legislation, particularly DPA & FOI.
