Role Overview
Group-level expert resource in Radio Access Network Optimisation to provide hands-on Design Support for group operating companies.
Core Responsibilities
Group-level expert resource in 2G and 3G Radio Access Network Optimisation
Deliver internationally competitive performing networks in conjunction with individual group operating companies
Transfer best-practice optimisation techniques to the group operating companies in line with group preferred practices, architectures and roadmaps
Support review of operating company strategic plans and budgets
Support the Cross-Operation Forum Program leadership for radio access technologies
Support development of Group-level radio access technology road maps and practices
Qualifications
Above 12 years full time working experience.
9 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Previously held position of Head of Radio Network Optimisation at a major telecommunications operating company with 2G and 3G accountability.
Engineering degree desired, or lesser qualification acceptable with appropriate experience.
Industry training in cellular radio access network technology & optimisation.
International experience, preferably in the MENA region.
In-depth working knowledge of 3GPP cellular wireless access technologies mandatory, others useful.
Extensive hands-on experience in the planning, design and implementation and optimisation of wireless access networks, with a strong bias to RF network optimisation.
Current working experience with 2G and 3G RAN products from group frame vendors (Ericsson, Huawei & NSN).
Skills Set

Technical Skills
Vast knowledge of key mobile telecom radio access technologies, including hardware and software components.
Strong knowledge of 3GPP network technologies and end-to-end planning practices, implementation methods and cost optimisation strategies, with a speciality in RAN.
Knowledge and experience in systems integration techniques, system engineering, systems management, and KPI reporting.
Ability to translate marketing needs into engineering targets and able to guide marketing through ideas formulation of network targets.
Strong understanding of technology trends, best practices, and management of technology innovation operations.
